Happy Funtime Friend Service

For Christmas last year, I had no idea what to get my parents and since we all have too much stuff and what I'd really like to do is spend more time with them, I decided to go for an experiential gift and arranged for tours of three Frank Lloyd Wright properties.

The Pope Leighey House - We did the Tech Tour which is given the first Sunday of the month. It was amazing to realize how much this house is like the one I grew up in - unfinished wood interiors and the central core living room. On the Tech Tour, you get to tour both the inside and outside of the house and take pictures (which you don't on all the other tours). They also have a Twilight Tour that looks quite nice.

Kentuck Knob - This house is still a private residence now owned by Lord Palumbo. Originally owned by the Hagens, it's stunning and I want their stove. The artwork and furniture takes your breath away - aside from the terrific house. Take the in-depth tour. It's worth the extra time.

Fallingwater - We did the Focus Tour which meant is was just the 3 of us and a curator, and we had time with just us in the living room and we got to see every room. Plus we had a private lunch on one of the terraces. If you can work it out, it's a great way to see this incredible house.
